Updated Jby James Lynch: Flash games are a critical part of internet history, so it only made sense to include a few more favorites on this best-of list in remembrance of the now defunct genre. Without many of these gems, many childhoods would've had just a little less color. These classics helped audiences learn how to strategize, socialize, and just kick back and enjoy themselves.

The announcement that Adobe would be 'killing off' Flash at the end of 2020 was met with widespread devastation among people for whom these games had defined their adolescence.Ĭertain games were so widely played that they became playground names that everyone recognized. If there was a computer with internet connection, Flash games were only a click or two away, and for the most part, they were completely free. The object of the game is to fling yourself as far as possible. An important part of so many gamers' childhoods, Flash games (games that ran off of Adobe Flash) were the most accessible video games that one could find in the early 2000s.
